In the first installment of our Western Scotland series, Tron explores the remote and rugged Machrihanish Golf Club in Western Scotland. We'll have plenty more content to come from this trip, which occurred in late April 2023. Presented by FootJoy.

Nestled in the Kintyre Peninsula, Machrihanish's famous beckoning first hole invites those with a profound appreciation for wanderlust and testy quintessential links golf. Founded in 1876, it began with 10 holes before Tom Morris redesigned and expanded it to 18.

  • NLU Film Room: Shiskine

Tron's second stop in the Western Scotland series is Shiskine Golf and Tennis Club on the Isle of Arran. Watch as Tron tries to break par on this 12-hole gem Presented by Footjoy.

Founded in 1896, Shiskine Golf and Tennis Club contains a 12-hole links golf course located on the western side of the Isle of Arran and designed by the 1883 champion of the Open Championship, Willie Fernie. Originally a 9-hole layout, architect Willie Park Junior was brought in to expand it to an 18-hole design. World War I made its completion fall by the wayside, rounding it out to a 12-hole track heavily featuring par-3s and captivating cliffside views.
